Animal Welfare
At Exotic Encounters animal welfare is our main priority. We have over 15 years of experience in caring for many different species of animals from hamsters, and snakes to horses and crocodiles
Environment
Were our animals live and that they are happy and healthy are some of the most important factors to us. We think it is very important that our animals enjoy their life with us, in the best environment we can offer them. All of our snakes and lizards are kept in larger than recommended enclosures which all have the appropriate heating and lighting fitted for the species it houses. Our mammals are all kept in groups if they would normally in the wild, they are also kept in large enclosures or sheds to allow them to escape each other if needed
Diet
We believe that our animals diet is key to them leading a healthy lifestyle. We are home to many different species of animals so will be feeding many different foods on a daily basis. Our rabbits receive a breakfast of mixed greens and vegetables alongside their hay and pellets. All of our snakes, lizards and amphibians receive a varied diet of insects or mice as they would in the wild. For our smaller rodents we mix our own food for them, this comprises of a mix of seeds dried and fresh vegetables and dried and live insects. This provides all of our animals with a healthy, balanced diet and enrichment of different flavours
